I know the SHRM website lists that there is eligibility change beginning in May but it changes for the better for you.

Now can take the test now = to consider yourself a PHR or a GPHR - you need to pass the test & have 2 years of exempt level work experience

If you want to take the test = with your master's degree you will need 1 year of exempt level work experience.

In today's economy and the HR environment, it could take you a few years to get an exempt level job. By that time, you might have started doing something you enjoy more and want to pursue as a career instead of HR.
- Additionally, if you wait to take the test, most likely you can get your employer to pay for any study sessions and test fees you incur, Even if they don't, it's still a tax write off as non-reimbursed employment costs.
