Privacy is impossible with electronic surveillance technology what it is today, provided anyone's interested enough to want to know anything about you. A person has to transcend the concept of privacy and be aware there's nothing that can be hidden, then come to the realization that there's nothing really worth hiding, either. Nothing we choose to do is anything important enough to become a priority to anyone else unless we try to make big tracks, in which case someone will probably drop a brick on our heads.

As for the rest, it's doable, but if they decide to round everyone up and put them in camps sometime they'll get around to you. Count on it.

what would bin laden do?
for almost a decade, he has successfully evaded the richest, most technologically advanced armies in the world. looks like a cave somewhere in Afghanistan/Pakistan/other, most people would rather be caught than that that existence though...

you need a group of very dedicated followers to protect you, knowledge of local terrain, no technology, a threat of violence and the support of locals. pablo escobar made an absolute mockery of the us/columbian governments as a result of the locals who did not betray him. also, plastic surgery to change your facial appearance? you might also be interested in john darwin (link below) who faked his own death, although he was stupid enough to allow his photo to be posted online...
