Is chivalry really dying?

I keep hearing on GWS that "chivalry is dying" or "chivalry is dead."

In my experience, guys help people out more than not. Here’s 2 examples:

1. I got in a car accident when I was 18. I had my ID, my Social Security Card & my credit cards in my purse along with my phone. Mom took my purse while I was going into an ambulance to get checked out (I was OK), but she accidentally dropped my cell & wallet. Later that evening, my folks went to find them, and it was gone. Two days later, I got a random call on my new cell phone, and it was the man who found my wallet & cell. I went over to their house, in a poor neighborhood (latino family - if that matters), and they gave me everything of mine. They didn’t use my cards, they didn’t use anything, and they wouldn’t accept any reward money. The guy was walking 15 miles to work that day and found them lying on the road and kept them for me.

2. I sprained my ankle badly about 6 months back. I was on crutches, and had to carry a large bag that holds my stuff. My travel to work includes driving, taking a bus, taking the metro, and walking a block to work. An hour and a half each way. That first day back to work a random guy in a suit offered to help me carry my bag, which he did. Not only did he carry it to the metro from my bus stop, but he got off at my stop even though it wasn’t his, and carried it with him until I actually sat down at my chair at work!

I want to know if you think chivalry is truly dying or dead.
Hey, I’m not being a racist - I was just adding details. Only one person in that family could speak English, and it was the daughter of the man who picked up my wallet. I’m just saying I was grateful.
"Uh, you know it takes about 4 hours to walk 15 miles at a fast pace, non-stop? Also, nice to be racist! Us dirty Latinos not stealing and doing illegal activities? Unheard of…"

Yes, actually I was quite shocked that someone had to walk all that way to get to work & home. I’m always paranoid about ANYONE stealing my stuff. It’s something my mom ingraned in me. Not based on race, not based on sex, not based on age.
