Cell phone companies do not report your monthly payment activity because it is NOT an extension of credit. Only time they will report it is if you default on the contract and do not pay. Same with a pre paid credit card. You are NOT being extended credit, therefore, there is no activity to report. Unless you misspoke and this is a secured credit card that reports your activity, you are basically doing nothing to re establish your credit. Go to your bank or credit union and see if they offer a secured credit card. You will need to use this card wisely for about 2 years before you would really have your credit re established.
