How should I deal with bringing and carrying money during my two week trip to France and Spain?
I’ll be joining my European family for two weeks this summer, staying in a house they have rented, going out, going to the beach, etc.
As a minor I don’t have a credit card, and carrying around large sums of cash seems quite unsafe. What is my best option for money? My mother suggested traveler’s cheques but they seem quite outdated. Will places, especially local ones, still accept these? What are my other options?
Also, my cell provider is Verizon. I notice on the website they have some international deal, but it seems like it involves switching phones and quite a bit of hassle. Is it worth it? Should I just ditch my cell for the trip?
