For those who think that corporations should have the same rights as individuals and that it is in our?
best interest to protect corporate profits over the welfare on the individual, have you ever tried dealing with your cell phone provider?
If you think that corporate American is your buddy, here is a good example for you.
My cell phone provider billed me 00.00 for one month, denied responsibility for three weeks and caused me to spend 34 hours on the phone with them including hold time.
After three weeks they admitted they were wrong and I did not owe it but couldn’t seem to credit the bill.
Two more weeks go by and they call and threaten to cut off the phone if I don’t pay the 00.00 they already admitted that I did not owe.
They did their best to wear me down and I finally had to have an attorney write a letter and threaten to sue them if they suspended the service.
They dinged my credit in the process of all this and never apologized. But when I called to cancel their service it took me 15 minutes to get off the phone with them as they had every deal in the book to try and keep me. Suddenly my buddy!
My bank has a special that pays 3.5% interest on checking and you have to use the debit card 12 times per month to earn the interest rate. When I tried making 12 50 cent purchases in a row, their "security department" called and asked if they were my charges, to serve me better and then froze the account anyway and it took three days to get access to my money again.
My branch manager finally told me that the "security department" was instructed to do this to keep people like me from "gaming the system". So it is ok for them to game the public but not to game them.
