Look into Horizon Life and American Amicable and what happened with this company for their deceptive sales practices to military personnel. It sounds almost exactly like what you described, a person or company using access to a military base to sell bad products to service members. The SEC filed a lawsuit against them and they had to give back a ton of money they took.

Do your fellow Marines a favor and get these people kicked off the base.

Take all of the paperwork to JAG. They cannot represent you in a civil matter, but they can review your information & advise you.

You say the authorities should be coming. If they do and make any arrests you could be awarded damages or refunds or whatever. But the DA would handle that free of charge unless you want to pay a lawyer and try to fight this.

But just because you can't afford something anymore is not a reason to get out of a contract without them being able to sue you. Unless job loss was a contingincy put in the contract. It's like buying a car and having it repo'd. You are still responsible for whatever they cannot sell the vehicle for. And saying you over stretched you budget is definatly not a reason. That would just be a personnal problem. Oh and if you don't pay and they take it to your command, and it is ligit. You will be in trouble.

If you are not old enough to vote (per se) then you are not legally bound to a contract because you are not considered and adult.
