Charged two times on an online debit card purchase!!!?
So I was on blackhairspray.com purchasing a few items to use for my hair this summer. I went through the whole process of making an account, picking out the items I wanted, and finally go to the part when I enter my credit/debit card number and the 3 digit number on the back and chose my shipping method. I finished doing all of that, and I pressed submit. I got an error message saying that my transaction was not completed, so I did it again only to get the same message. Then I tried a different website (clairhair.com) and the same thing happened. I figured it was just the card so I decided to use one of my other debit cards on clairhair.com because the items I wanted were cheaper and that transaction went through. This all happened early in the morning (around 12:30am my time) on June 2nd, but the website is in CST (3 hour difference) so it may be considered June 1st.
So, on June 2nd at around 9:30 I went to the grocery store to pick up some groceries after work and at the checkout counter my debit card was decline, at this point I thought my card was just screwed up so I just used the other one that worked online last night.
Something felt wrong, I knew I had money in my account, I’m constantly checking my balance so I called my bank to see what was up. They told me about pending transactions (3 of them) on my account. 2 of them were around and the other about . I asked the woman on the line if it was possible to void them but she said that since I put the security code in and submitted it I clarified right then that I knew what I was doing. But the thing is, I got an error message, never got a confirmation number or any type of clarification. No email about the purchase or anything. I’ve sent the company email, and called but I did so during non work hours so I’ll be calling again today when they opened. Is there anything I can do to make sure I get my money back? Has this happened to anyone else, not only on blackhairspray.com but any other website and how did you handle it?
